Triple treat, and a new frontier
Ladies and gentlemen, we finally did it. We have officially gone where no other group has ever gone before.
You’ll see what I mean very soon.
First of all, (not-as-soon-)as promised, here’s chapter 36 of Katekin, wherein… *cough* handbrakes get pulled and canoes get waxed. Poor Sachi. A pretty funny chapter through and through, although cleaning the SFX in this one wasn’t very fun at all. I’m really sorry for the delay, people. Mediocre raws with gradient half-tones are the bane of my existence.
But that’s not all for today, folks; we will also introduce to you (and by “introduce”, I mean “release the first chapter of”) our two new and exciting projects.
The first one is the opening chapter of Otona Ni Naru Houhou (How to Become an Adult), a charming romance manga by Yamada Nanpei about a 17-year-old girl falling in love with a 10-year-old boy, and all the misadventures of their relationship. Some of you might have already read this chapter, courtesy of kaizokuscans. However, the translation we used is of higher quality — or at least, that’s what their translator told ours. (Interjection by Anorymous: I’m sorry, Shrishti! The next one will come sooner, I promise!)
This is a joint with our buddies at Greek Scans.
The second one is the first chapter of Kimi No Suki Na Onnanoko No Katachi (Shape of Your Favourite Girl), a one-volume collection of short stories by Maruta about troublesome relationships. Like Otona Ni Naru Houhou, it’s also dealing with young people in love. One could say that the two of them make an adorable combination. This one also happens to be my first almost completely solo scanlating effort, and the fact that I almost had it all done before a catastrophic HDD failure took away everything I had worked on didn’t make things one bit easier. Given that I’ve had to do most things twice in order to release this, please treat it as a labour of love.
So there you have it, lucky cats, three releases in one post.
“So, what makes this so special?”, you might ask. “Three releases in the same post right after a long slumber? Boy, color me surprised.”
But no, that’s not the reason why we’re boasting today. In case you haven’t noticed already… of the two new projects we just introduced, one is shoujo, and the other one is hentai. That’s right. We’re one of the very few (if any) groups to have ever released a shoujo AND a hentai manga in their entire scanlating career, and we’re definitely the only group to have ever done that in the same release post.
Achievement unlocked: Lure little girls and adult men in the same release post, and have both of them deal with the awkwardness of the situation.
Of course, you can be a cool little girl (or a cool adult man) who reads both types of manga with equal enjoyment, in which case we salute you as a true, fine connoisseur of manga, a person whose tastes transcend all genres. That’s where we stand as well. Today’s “unholy” combo is more of a statement than a mere stunt. A good story is all that matters, genres and demographics be damned.
P.S. Our next release will be Super-Dreadnought Girl 4946 ch21. Sorry, fellas, but due to various circumstances, it took us a little while longer to scan.
P.S.2. Regarding Otoyomegatari: Chapter 20 has been sitting on my desktop all cleaned and ready for a translation for months now but, quite frankly, none of us here in THMMY scans has the time and the confidence to translate it. I really don’t want to abandon this project, but I’m gonna need some help. If you’re good at Japanese, or even have a friend who’s good at it, and can spare some minutes translating manga, please do get in touch with us.

Extreme IRL syndrome with AEI complications
Hello, people.
You all already know this, but… we’re kind of in a slump right now. A serious one, that has affected all the members of THMMY scans, and has been going on for four months as of the writing of this post.
Such slumps do happen. I’ve gone through lots of them. Whenever they do happen, my usual response is to wait for them to pass by themselves. That’s what I had been doing until now.
However, this one… it doesn’t seem like it’s going away any time soon. If anything, it seems to be getting worse as time goes on. The group has to be jump-started back into gear, and I’m finally going to do something about it.
I, as the group’s translator, hereby promise to resume translating all the projects I’d fallen behind on; this includes SDG and Katekin. If I’m delirious and insane, maybe I’ll even take up Otoyomegatari.
Sadly, I can’t do more than that by myself. But, like all of you, I want to see these manga out. I think that the only solution will be to forgo the “closed group” status that we had until now, and look for more joints… or even admit new members to our ranks. Katekin volume 05 chapter 35
And here’s the secret, second project that we promised to revive soon! That didn’t take too long, now, did it?
Ever since I first started reading Katekin (it’s been, like, 3-4 years) there’s a phrase that has been going through my mind every time I read it: “How ugly can lust get?”
That seems to be what Katekin is all about, really. All the crap the characters go through, it all seems to boil down to the lust they feel, and how disturbingly it manifests.
This, I think, is what makes it a masterpiece. Who else would touch a subject as delicate as that?
Super Dreadnought Girl 4946 volume 5 chapter 20
It gives me great pleasure to present to you the next chapter of Super-Dreadnought Girl 4946, aka Choudokyuu Shoujo 4946. And the reason for that is because it’s a chapter that only we could have brought to you, since we actually BOUGHT those raws, baby. You can’t find them on the Internet. So yeah, once again THMMY scans saves the day and brings a dead project back to life, no less than 341 days since the last release. That’s one hell of a long time, so I won’t let you guys wait any further.

Now, some of you might be wondering “W-wait, what? Volume 5? I thought we were left at volume 3″. Yeah, that’s what we thought too at first, so we went ahead and bought volumes 3-5. Turns out that volume 3 only reaches up to chapter 14, and volume 4 spans from chapter 15 to chapter 19. Kinda sucks that we bought more than what we really needed, but then again, hey, we supported the mangaka, right?
Speaking of CDS 4946 volumes, I just checked some Japanese websites, and it turns out CDS 4946 ended earlier this year, and volume 6 is the last one. Now we know what’s the next volume in our to-buy list.
So, enjoy the release! Rest assured that we’re planning to bring you the rest of volume 5 as well, and hopefully volume 6 too. Oh, and keep your eyes open for the revival of yet another project by yours truly in the near future. I’ll keep its name a secret for now… look forward to it!
